abstract = "Space research has four pillars embracing different fields. Space
technology, or space engineering, is the starting point to the new
research area. Space science waspresent even before space research
to be established. Space applications is the impact of the space
technology on society, performing operational activities. The
human being wants to be in the space. However, exterior space is a
hostil environment. Looking for safety conditions and the
radiation over human life, space medicine was developed for such
studies. The lecture will have focus on the first three fields of
the Space Research. Methods using regularized inverse solutions
will described. Applications include: damage identification for
international space station, cosmic back-ground microwave
radiation mapping, and retrieval of atmospheric temperature and
ocean chlorophyll profile, both obtained from satellite data.",
